A Grand Inauguration Celebration

It was an pleasure to plan and coordinate this grand affair in honor of Toni G. Atkins. Senator Atkins was sworn into office earlier this year as California's first LGTB woman representing the upper house as Senate President Pro Tempore. To celebrate her, the LGBT Caucus threw an inauguration party and boy does this group of politicians know how to celebrate! Complete with 9-foot acrylic pride letters, famous artist David Garibaldi performing, and LOTS of floral (check out those stairs!), this may have been our biggest and best event yet here at JRE. Below are the details that made this event stand out and we're so excited to share with you photos from this historic day. Hey California capitol, what event can we throw next??

Planning, Design, and Production: Jenn Robirds Events | Florals: Thistle and Honey | On location: The Kimpton Sawyer Hotel | Photography: Steph Grant Photography | Entertainment: DJ Rue, David Garibaldi | Rentals: Celebrations Party Rentals, La Tavola Fine Linens, The Party Concierge, Fontes Pro Sound & Lights, Forever Vintage Rentals | Catering: Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, Sun and Soil Juicery | Stationery: Little Bird Paper Company, Firefighter's Print & Design.

Guest registration was no small feat. With hundreds of guest, three different entrances, and two types of wrist bands, our team had to be on its A-game. But with a grand red carpet, floral lining the staircase, and a modern white bar to welcome guests, no one would ever know the complexity!

Letterpress elements, navy envelopes, and the CALGBT logo made for the classiest of invitation suites! Designed with the Little Paper Bird Company, we couldn't be happier with the results that gave guests a great first impression of the event to follow.

This white lounge furniture transformed the Sawyer's ballroom and gave guests a modern space to mingle, grab a drink, and enjoy the evening. Though we LOVE planning and producing weddings here at JRE, this was such a fun change of scenery.

Thistle and Honey killed this floral wall; there was not a single moment throughout the night when this display wasn't being used for photos. Can every event have a light-up floral wall?

Right outside of the ballroom, guests enjoyed an inviting clear-top tent overlooking downtown Sacramento. No one would ever know that this was a last minute addition due to potential rain in the forecast. Well, now everyone knows.

One of our Event Associates, Tabi, arranging a candle display. This was a rare event where our entire staff was needed, and it was so much fun seeing every employee here at JRE working their butts off to make this event a success!

These 9 foot acrylic light-up letters were the star of the show. Photographer Steph Grant photographed guests in front of the letters as they arrived, and the photos were later used as favors.
